The Joy of Pregnancy

My last post about pregnancy was a bit discouraging, so I wanted to update. If I discouraged anyone out there, it does get better!!! It’s so short in the grand scheme of things and it’s SOOOOOO worth it. And just to show you how far I’ve come, I was VERY depressed. When I went for my sleep study, I had to fill out lots of paperwork and surveys. Apparently one of them was a depression survey in disguise. I got a call from someone a couple of weeks later saying I was severely depressed. I didn’t know I was THAT depressed! I can laugh at it now, since I’m feeling so much better.
I’m so very grateful that I AM feeling better these days. I had an ultrasound yesterday and my baby boy is 3 pounds!! We’re very excited about this. I’m a week farther along in this pregnancy than when I had my first son, so this one is twice as big so far. I know some of my blogger friends have been praying for me and I’m very grateful to you!!!
God is wonderful and I’m so thankful He’s truly blessed me with my little ones.
It’s so much fun to feel him moving around in there, and I LOVE it when I feel him hiccupping. It’s absolutely wonderful!!
So, yes, the bad part passes and it is a truly wonderful experience. That said, I’ve yet to really experience the third trimester, which I’ve heard has it’s moments, but I’m looking forward to it anyway.

On another note, my brother and his wife had their baby boy about a month ago. He has a heart condition that will require surgery, but he’s doing so well right now that they are going to hold off on it a couple of months. He also has Down’s Syndrome. I know that times will get tough with that, but he is precious and very much loved!! I know they could use prayers, though.

Much of my spare time lately has been sewing diapers. Yes, I’ve decided to use cloth diapers!! So far we are really loving it, not to mention it saves lots of money. I hope to post about that adventure in the next couple of weeks.

  2. I do not read your last post (other than to know you are having a boy). However, this post is definitely positive. So glad God has blessed you with understanding your depression and being thankful for all life.

Praying for you and your babe and your little nephew!

  5. I'm so glad you're doing better. I'll keep you in prayer. Hormones can make everything go wacky, hang in there.

Do you have a pastor's wife or other older lady you can talk to? Several older women in my church were a lifeline to me during my pregnancy.

  6. My momma always listens to me when I need an ear. I also have my sister. She's been through it all, too. There's tons of sweet ladies at my church that would be there in a heartbeat if i needed them.
And I can't leave out my hubby. Even though he had work and class and rotations, he did a lot of housework during those first few months. I joked(although I'm pretty serious about it) that IF we decide on another one, we'll have to hire a maid for a few months. :) I think that alone would help tremendously.
I'm in nesting mode now, though, so that's always fun!
